(Best Syndication News) - The popular children book series published by Scholastic has now been released as an app for the Apple iPad tablet. ?The Adventures of Captain Underpants,? is available exclusively on the Apple App Store. This week, author Dav Pilkey also published his tenth book in the series -- Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxers.
The popular Captain Underpants book series has been around for over 15 years. Since the first book, which was published in September 1997, over 50 million books in the series have been printed for distribution in North America. The Captain Underpants series feature silly illustrations, which add to the superhero?s antics that saves the day.
The new app has interactive features and is in full color. Within the app is the entire first novel in the series, The Adventures of Captain Underpants. The pages of the story are presented in full color and full narration. Games are included in the app. One game involves helping Harold and George hypnotize their teacher Mr. Krupp! Another is a maze game that has the player move Captain Underpants through the city before time runs out.
"The Scholastic app team did an awesome job!" said Dav Pilkey. "I really think kids are going to have a lot of fun reading the book in full color, playing the crazy games, interacting with the characters?and creating new ones of their own!"
The new app is now available on the Apple App Store for the iPad and is priced at $4.99.
